I’ve had a bad history dealing with government agencies. I always feel like either they’re not interested in doing their job or they just don’t like to serve me because I look like a kid and so they don’t take me seriously.
But I felt the other way around when I had my PRC ID renewed last week. It’s good that I read online before going to the PRC Office in Mandaue because I got to prepare everything ahead of time. At first I wanted to try the PRC Online Website but I read somewhere that it’s only helpful if you’re renewing your license at the main branch in Manila, which kinda sucks but I was able to renew mine for around 30 minutes only so it’s all good. 😉
Before going to the PRC Office, make sure to bring the following:
1. 2 pieces Passport sized photo will full name, white background. The hair should be at the back and should not be covering your ears. Your teeth should also be hidden and you must wear a collared shirt. I think most of the photo stores already know this, just tell them that you need to have a photo taken for your PRC ID.
2. A Photocopy of your old PRC ID, front and back
3. Ballpen
4. Money for the renewal fee
I think you may also have your photo taken at the PRC office but I brought my own photos ahead of time so I don’t know how much they charge for it.
And so I entered the PRC Office in Mandaue at around 4:05 in the afternoon. I asked the guard where to go for the PRC ID Renewal and he directed me to the Public Assistance and Complaint Desk (PACD).
The guy at the PACD gave me this renewal form to fill up and told me to paste my photo on the form. They had paste available for free.
I then went to Counter 3 and dropped my photo at this box and gave the photocopy of my old PRC ID and the renewal form to the lady in the counter. I sat down and waited for my name to be called.
They called my name and I received my assessment form. I forgot to take a photo of my assessment form but I paid Php 450 at the cashier and they gave me a claim stub and my receipt.
I thought that I needed to go back another day to claim my ID but I directly got mine after the cashier told me to give my claim stub to Counter 4. I just filled up my name in the log sheet and I went home with a smile on my face.
It was as easy as that. I just wish LTO would get their shit together and get a workshop with the peepz at PRC. lol
Here’s a summary of the steps in renewing your PRC License:
Thank you, PRC! Faith in government agencies restored! 😉

how to renew if my expired ID was lost?

Hi,
I’m not really sure how. I think you may call the PRC office or go to their office to ask if it’s okay to renew your ID even if it was lost or if you need an affidavit of loss.
Thanks,
Christine
